The Division 2's World Tier 5 is out now, and many players are certain to be exploring the new Tidal Basin stronghold and acquiring powerful gear. Amongst this desirable loot are new exotic weapons, and while some may be wondering how to get Nemesis exotic sniper in The Division 2, others may have their sights set on something different: the Pestilence exotic LMG.

The Division 2 Pestilence Exotic LMG Stats

The Pestilence exotic LMG is seemingly made for The Division 2 PvP, and while its stats are a bit underwhelming (some say the Pestilence sucks), dealing 4-5k damage with 550 RPM, it offers some interesting effects. Specifically, its Pestilence debuff could be powerful against opposing players in tight quarters.

The way that the Pestilence debuff works is this: If an enemy is hit 20 times with the exotic LMG, they are inflicted with Plague of the Outcasts, and if an enemy with the Plague is killed, they release a toxic cloud. This cloud lasts for 10 seconds, and it deals 200% weapon damage per second, and gives the Pestilence debuff, to anyone standing within it.

This debuff reduces healing received by 50% for 10 seconds, and, if an enemy with Pestilence is downed they are instantly killed (no chance of quick revive). That said, the debuff is immediately removed if the enemy fully repairs their armor.

For good measure, the Pestilence exotic LMG also has another talent called Outcast Resilience. This The Division 2 effect reads as follows: "While holstered, gain 20% bonus armour for 5s whenever you are affected by blind, bleed or burning."

How to Get Pestilence Exotic LMG in The Division 2

As the Pestilence exotic LMG certainly appears to be PvP-focused, it makes sense that players will need to take a break from The Division 2's World Tier 5 and visit the Dark Zone to acquire it. Players that wish to obtain Pestilence should start by clearing landmarks in the Dark Zone and targeting the named elites. These named bosses have a chance to drop Pestilence, and players should simply clear landmarks and eliminate bosses until they get their legendary.

To note, it is possible to receive a contaminated Pestilence. In those cases, it is recommended to extract the weapon as quickly as possible before it is taken by another player.

The Pestilence exotic LMG may not be on the power level of many of the other The Division 2 exotic weapons, but some players are certain to find some fun with it. Fortunately, acquiring one is relatively straightforward for those that wish to give it a try.

The Division 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
