From April 9th to April 16th in Destiny 2, a new small-scale event called Arc Week will be taking place in-game. Besides adding Arc Singe modifiers, Arc bounties, and new Arc Week emotes, the game will also make changes to nearly every original Arc-based subclass in the game. The changes are leaning far into making these subclasses feel more powerful and giving players more reasons to select them.

Striker Titan

In the Code of the Juggernaut branch of the Striker, the idea is for melee damage and gunplay to feed synergistically off each other, with the Frontal Assault perk giving an instant reload and increased stability upon a melee hit and the Knockout perk activating once players have dealt considerable damage to an enemy, giving increased melee range and damage. Both of these core perks are getting a jolt with increased damage and duration.

Arcstrider Hunter

Similar to the Titan's Code of the Juggernaut, the Way of the Warrior arc subclass tree for Hunters is also about melee damage against enemies in Destiny 2. The Combination Blow perk, which increases melee damage temporarily will now stack up to three times and the health regen starts with a chunk of health right up front. Deadly Reach, which increases melee range upon a dodge, is also getting a longer duration.

The other branch, Way of the Wind, is supposed to a be a space ninja's fantasy, but players have learned that it can be hard to stay alive executing the power fantasy causing the Arcstrider to often feel weak. The upcoming changes look to make players more resilient with significant buffs to every perk in its tree: increasing the disorienting effects of Disorienting Blow, the recharge of dodge from sprinting, ability regeneration, and damage resistance while dodging.

Stormcaller Warlock

First off, regardless of branch, the traditional Stormtrance super (not the Chaos Reach super added in the Forsaken expansion) will scale up in damage when players use it continuously, encouraging players to lay in with the lightning attack without letting up.

The Attunement of Conduction path will be getting a major buff to all of its chain lightning effects, allowing the subclass's melee and grenade abilities to chain to more enemies and even back and forth between them over a greater distance than before. The subclass also now has the ability to regain grenade energy based on the number of enemies hit with chain lightning.

For a different playstyle, The Attunement of the Elements branch in Destiny 2 is all about using the Arc Soul and sharing it with allies. To push the playstyle further in that direction, players will get a dramatically increased regeneration rate to their Rift when near an ally. The duration of both the Rift and the Arc Soul have also been increased.

Other Subclass Changes

While that's it for the changes coming to the Arc subclasses in Destiny 2, the Nova Warp subclass is also getting a buff, with developer Bungie saying it nerfed Nova Warp too aggressively in a previous update, so these new buffs will hopefully bring things back into balance a bit more. As for the only real nerf in the update, the Dawnblade will get a nerf to its Everlasting Fire perk, which could be abused to give players nearly infinite supers. The update will tune down its effectiveness to try to curb its over-powered effects.

Update 2.2.1 containing these changes is scheduled to release in Destiny 2 on April 9.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
