Destiny 2's upcoming 2.2.1 update is going to change quite a few things for players of the game. While many fans are excited at the rare item drop rate buff, which will help players who are searching for One Thousand Voices or the ever-elusive Dreaming City cosmetic items, there are some other changes coming that fans should get ready for. Bungie Community Manager Cozmo took to the Bungie forums today to announce that with the 2.2.1 update, some of the elusive Reckoning weapons will be a bit easier to get going forward.

The Reckoning is one of the two new activities introduced in the Season of the Drifter, and it features unique and powerful weapons for players to earn. Some players have spent a lot of time trying to farm the Spare Rations Hand Cannon that is one of the best weapons from The Reckoning. Thankfully, after the 2.2.1 update, all the Reckoning weapons will be much easier to come across if players sink a good amount of time into the game. Most Reckoning-specific weapons will now also drop from Gambit Prime matches, with the exception of the Gnawing Hunger Auto Rifle, the Just In Case Sword, and the Doomsday Grenade Launcher which will all remain exclusive to The Reckoning. Outside of those three weapons, all the other Reckoning weapons will have a chance to drop at the end of every Gambit Prime match.

On top of the weapons being added to the Gambit Prime loot pool, there will also be RNG protection added to them. So for every match players do not earn a weapon, they will have better chances in the next match, much like how the Escalation Protocol weapons work. So if players are just trying to get the random roll version of these guns, they can either play Reckoning or just play a bunch of Gambit Prime. The new changes will likely not benefit players looking to earn the curated roll weapons, but players will have to wait and see.

It's good to see Destiny 2 getting updates that are helping players fight against bad RNG, since having bad luck is locking players out of earning titles and triumphs. Hopefully some of the bigger issues, like the growing enhancement core controversy, will be addressed in a future update as well.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
