Pokemon GO developer Niantic is not one to rest on its laurels. Although the Treecko Community Day and Spring Equinox have ended, the developer is announcing future plans. This includes the forthcoming Lotad Research Day, and now we know what to expect for the April Pokemon GO Community Day event.

On April 13, Pokemon GO players will be able to add the Dragon-type Pokemon Bagon and its evolutions, Shelgon and Salamence, to their rosters. This event is also expected to feature shiny versions of these Pokemon, though Niantic has not confirmed this. However, it would be a serious break from tradition for the developer to not include these shiny variants.

As seen below, the shiny Bagon's family models are green compared to their standard colors. Bagon and Salamence's blue takes on a more green shine, while Shelgon's white is slightly green. Of the three, Shelgon's is the least impressive, but many will be gunning for the shiny Salamence with a Pokemon GO Community Day exclusive move anyway. For now, that move is unknown but current speculation suggests it could either be Draco Meteor, Outrage, or Fly.

Whatever unique moves Niantic decides to give Salamence this Community Day, it's likely to draw out the crowds, as Bagon is one of the most popular Pokemon to be featured as of late. More than that, this move is likely to buff Salamence's role in the meta, especially among the best Dragon Pokemon for PVP and in raids, so it'll be interesting to see what Niantic decides. Of course, regardless of its role in the Pokemon GO meta, many will be clamoring for the shiny version for no reason other than its a shiny.

Although this is exciting news, it's also worth mentioning that the shiny Bagon family is not the only shiny set coming to Pokemon GO in April. As part of its Earth Day event, it appears that developer Niantic will be adding shiny Diglett (and its Alolan forms) next month, so it seems the constant stream of events for 2019 is continuing through April.

Pokemon GO is out now in select regions for Android and iOS devices.
