It's been over half a year since Bethesda announced their new sci-fi IPStarfield, at E3 2018, which had been a source of intrigue for years following a mysterious registered trademark. Still, despite an official confirmation of the project, the debut trailer revealed very little and Bethesda has been quiet about it ever since. However, a new rumor that has surfaced suggests that we may get another glimpse at it during this year's PAX East.

The gaming conference is set to be held from Thursday, March 28th - Sunday, March 31st in Boston. As for why some suspect Starfield to make an appearance of some kind, the rumor originates from a recent survey Bethesda sent out. One of the questions on it asks which Bethesda titles people are excited to see at PAX East, with one them being Starfield itself.

While it's easy to get excited to finally see more footage of the game, it should be noted that this is only speculation and the question in the survey also notes that some of the games mentioned in the survey might not be present at the convention. It's entirely possible that even if Starfield does make an appearance, it could just be another short teaser trailer. Todd Howard did previously state that the game was in a playable state but he also described it as a "next-generation game," which seems to heavily suggest that it will be released on the likes of the PS5. Since that console hasn't been officially revealed yet, it's possible that we won't see any Starfield footage until after the fact.

e3 2019

If this rumor turns out to be false, there is still Bethesda's E3 2019 showcase, which is currently set to occur on Sunday, June 9th at 5:30pm PT. At the moment, the line-up for the event is relatively unknown, with the only confirmed title to be shown being Doom Eternal, the sequel to their 2016 hit. Even if there's no major reveal about the title, at the very least we could hear some sort of update on the title and how it's progressing.

Starfield currently has no confirmed release date or platforms.
