Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a game that thrives on facing players off against incredibly difficult boss and mini-boss fights. This should come as no surprise considering it's a FromSoftware game, but that doesn't mean every player is going to be an expert at this type of dodge and counterstrike combat system. Whether it's finding the best strategy to beat Lady Butterfly or learning how to kill Shinobi Hunter Enshin of Misen, our Sekiro guides have you covered.

Shinobi Hunter Enshin of Misen is an early encounter in the game, so it may be one of the first ones that players find themselves truly stuck on.  Although the fight is tough, employing just a few few strategies can actually make this fight a complete breeze. Mechanic spoilers ahead, as we break down the best strategy for killing this boss. Don't worry, this one won't be as challenging as learning how to beat the chained ogre.

Kill The Trash

The best way to set yourself up for victory with this fight is to preemptively eliminate any adds that could be triggered once you pull the main attraction. Getting rid of the regular enemies in the fight area before the boss fight will make this encounter substantially easier. Depending on how far you this you'll stray during the fight, you may need to clear a bigger radius. At the very least, be sure to deliver a deathblow to the archer standing near the bushes.

Unlock The Mikiri Counter

Before starting the main fight, players should unlock the Mikiri Counter. This will make a huge difference once the battle actually begins. The counter only costs one skill point and will be the deciding factor in whether this fight is a grueling grind or one of the easier battles in the game.

Deliver A Deathblow

Hide out nearby and wait for the Shinobi Hunter to patrol nearby. Once he's close enough, sneak out and deliver a Deathblow. This attack will reduce his health by half and make the remaining fight much shorter.

Master The Counter

At this point, it's time to start relying on that Mikiri Counter ability. The new ability lets players counter the unblockable stabbing attacks that the Shinobi Hunter will rely on throughout the encounter. The red symbols will telegraph the incoming attacks, so be sure to dodge those. Be sure to dodge into the opponent by pushing the analog stick towards them and hammering the Circle or B button to land the counter. Successfully pulling this off will eventually build up the enemy's posture gauge enough to allow for a final deathblow for the kill.
