Fortnite Battle Royale's Season 8 Week 3 is in full swing, and there's no doubt that myriad players are taking on this week's Battle Pass challenges and still discovering a bunch of different aspects about the free-to-play multiplayer shooter's refreshed map. As a matter of fact, some players have begun to notice that a black helicopter has seemingly been slowly traveling to various locations around the game's map.

As some Fortnite Battle Royale fans may recall, the aforementioned army-styled helicopter was initially found somewhat near the new map location of Sunny Steps, and later on it was spotted atop a hillside overlooking Lonely Lodge. As of writing, the helicopter is currently situated on a mesa at the bottom right hand corner of the map in Fortnite Battle Royale's desert biome, Paradise Palms.

There's no telling at this point what the helicopter's movements around Fortnite Battle Royale's map could mean, but some players have been speculating that it could have something to do with the overarching story of Season 8 and what's to come in Season 9. Then there are those who have guessed that Epic Games could be teasing the helicopter as a potential vehicle to be added at some point down the line, with the chopper's interior seemingly having enough room to transport an entire squad.

For those unaware, this isn't the first time that Epic Games has decided to take an object in Fortnite Battle Royale and move it around the game's map. For instance, one of the bigger mysteries of Season 5 involved a giant purple cube moving around the map, with the cube eventually breaking apart and giving way to the next round of content to come in Season 6.

All things considered, it will be interesting to see what Epic Games has planned for the roving helicopter in Fortnite Battle Royale, but there's always the possibility that the payoff won't be as big as some fans are expecting. At any rate, we will have to wait and find out what the chopper's movements could mean.

Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
