Albion Online’s next big thing has a name and a date: Oberon and March 20th. This round up content updates includes a full rebalance of gear unlocking, new mobs, new drops, new chests, new shrines, quality of life updates, and sizable additions to dungeons throughout the world, making the game seem a tad more Diablo than Shadowbane this time around.

Specifically, Sandbox Interactive is adding new randomly spawning hidden entrances for duneons, procedurally generated random dungeons to go with them, and dungeon maps for finding them. The maps are dropped by mobs, and their target dungeons spawn only when you get there, but of course, once you do get there, “the dungeon is fair game for all groups,” and this is a PvP game, so have a care.

Notably for new players, the studio is furbishing up its tutorial system.

Albion Online’s tutorial has been completely overhauled, providing new players with clearer guidance on the game’s systems and combat. This reworked and condensed onboarding, in addition to helping new players better learn how to navigate the world of Albion, will also bring them more quickly into higher-level play, benefiting veteran players as well.”
