I'm doing this why, exactly?

With the arrival of March, Destiny 2 says goodbye to the Season of the Forge and hello to Season of the Drifter, the second of the three seasons on its roadmap for the first two thirds of the year. It all kicks off on March 5th, when the Drifter will pull back the curtain on the latest iteration of his signature Gambit game mode, Gambit Prime, which will also come with a new Gambit map, New Arcadia. Players will also be able to take part in private Gambit matches as well as the first tier of the super-challenging Reckoning PvE mode.

As the month progresses, even more content will steadily drip into the game, starting with Reckoning tier two on the 8th, followed by the Deep Six Gambit Prime map on the 12th. Also on the 12th, the classic — and notorious — hand cannon Thorn makes its return. The new Invitations of the Nine — known in a previous iteration of the roadmap as Xûr Bounties — arrive on March 15th alongside Reckoning tier three, with the month being capped off by two new Gambit Prime maps, Legion’s Folly and Emerald Coast, which will land on the 19th and 26th, respectively.

And of course, on top of all this new content, the devs also promise a wealth of new lore that will delve into the background of the mysterious Drifter and his connection to the even more enigmatic organization known as The Nine. That’s a lot to look forward to, but if you just can’t wait to check it out for yourself, you can listen to the devs talk in detail about all the upcoming content in the latest ViDoc below.
