Black Mirror And Peaky Blinders Director Set To Helm Halo Television Series

by Jason Guisao on Feb 21, 2019 at 01:03 PM

Director Otto Bathurst has joined the ever-growing cast and crew of Showtime's upcoming Halo television series. Bathurst is notable for his work on Black Mirror's pilot episode "The National Anthem." He also helmed the first three episodes of BBC's Peaky Blinders, which each garnered general acclaim and earned him a BAFTA Television Craft Award for Best Director. His latest project was the action-packed Robin Hood film that came out last fall.

A release date for the Halo series has not been confirmed, and overall information on its development has been kept under wraps. While you wait for the eventual release of more Halo news, 343 Industries announced Halo: Infinite at last year's E3. Check out the trailer for the game here.

It's good to see that Showtime has finally found someone to be in charge of its latest show. Bathurst's Robin Hood was a commercial and critical failure, so his involvement does lend some room for concern. However, with the obvious success of Black Mirror and Peaky Blinders, he has the potential to create Showtime's next television gem.
