Capital idea!

Everything old is new again, and The Division 2 is following in the footsteps of its predecessor with the addition of an open beta running from March 1st to March 4th. This was already mentioned by a developer almost as an afterthought, but the official announcement both confirms that wasn’t a slip of the tongue and adds in actual dates. With the game launching on March 15th it should give you just enough time to play and decide if you want to jump in while still dodging, well, the other big online shooter release happening soon.

No more information about the open beta is currently available, although it seems likely that it’ll contain the same content as the recent closed beta for a wider audience. You may recall that the closed beta attracted fewer viewers in stream format than the original, which may well contribute to the dates being later in the month for the beta followup. Or perhaps this was always the plan.
