Gamigo isn’t penalizing ArcheAge cheaters who exploited Erenor infusions

Fans of drama are surely breathing a sigh of relief knowing that Gamigo isn’t going to drop the ball that Trion handed off – there’s always going to be plenty of drama in ArcheAge, no matter who’s running the show. Case in point? Players aren’t happy with the way Gamigo is handling a recent rash of exploits in the game. While the studio says it took “aggressive action” against cheaters who used a Russian-born exploit to max their equipment and trade mass quantities of Apex, it won’t be doing the same to those who exploited the heck out of Erenor infusions.

“Regarding the use of lower grade Erenor infusions on high grade Erenor items, we had to be sure that this was not an intentional change that was added early by mistake. After confirming this was not intended with the XL team, it has been fixed in the most recent patch and lower grade infusions can no longer be used to provide synthesis experience to Erenor items. Items that were upgraded during this time cannot have the experience removed. In the interest of fairness however, we are working with the XL team to provide additions to upcoming events that will help to close the gap that may have been caused by this. We will provide details of those events as they close in during upcoming updates.”

The game’s forums erupted in anger that not only will the cheated items not be deleted but the perpetrators won’t be banned or indeed see any punishment at all.

“Exploit early and exploit often,” is one lengthy thread’s sarcastic takeaway.

In happier news, ArcheAge’s Valentine’s Day event is expected to launch later today, and the studio has promised more info on March’s update “in the next few weeks.”
