The wild west is about to get just a little bit wilder with the introduction of bounty hunters, posse-wide parleys and feuds, and changes to player visibility coming in Red Dead Online’s next update, which is coming on February 26th. Players who go around wantonly attacking others will need to be watching over their shoulders once the update goes live, as criminal behavior will now cause players to attract the attention of NPC bounty hunters looking to collect the rewards on their heads.

In addition, overly aggressive players will now be highlighted on the map, allowing other players who may be out for blood (or revenge) to track them with ease. On the flip side, however, the update will be making players who stick to the straight-and-narrow less visible on the map by reducing the range at which player “blips” are visible, which the devs hope will “minimize certain types of destructive player behavior.”

The update will also bring more goals for players to pursue in the form of daily challenges. The challenges will include a variety of different activities, ranging from “foraging for herbs, selling items at a Fence, hunting and skinning animals, clearing hideouts, winning Feuds and so much more.” For completing these challenges, players will earn gold nuggets and XP. And of course, the update will also include a handful of adjustments such as weapon rebalancing, voice chat proximity changes, and more, the full details of which you can find over at the game’s official site.
