Pokemon GO's Lunar New Year event is officially confirmed and underway, so players are all out and about taking advantage of the bonuses and increased spawns associated with the festival. Although all of the special bonuses are exciting, completionists may be particularly looking forward to adding a new shiny creature to their collections.

Although Spoink isn't necessarily the most popular Pokemon, a new shiny is always enough to get the community excited and on the hunt. As usual, the event will include a major increase in sightings for the featured creature and a new shiny model. The shiny Spoink is a pretty cool looking one and we've got a few screenshots for players who want to know what to keep an eye out for.

Although Pokemon GO's Spoink may not be most meta-relevant Pokemon, the shiny will still be good trade bait since some members of the community can't get enough shiny creatures. Collecting shiny Pokemon doesn’t give the trainer any kind of advantage in battle, but it is still a fun additional challenge to add into the game. Shiny Pokemon are perfect for leaving in Gyms to show off to the rest of the community.
