The Spring Update for Albion Online will Feature Hidden Entrances & Randomized Dungeons

When the Oberon update is deployed to Albion Online later this spring, players will find a new type of PvE content in "hidden entrances" and randomized dungeons.

As the name implies, Hidden Entrances can spawn randomly anywhere in the game world. These entrances are not marked on the game map and will only remain active for a certain period of time. Parties of five can enter them to find a completely randomized dungeon experience. Multiple groups can enter and each will find its own procedurally generated dungeon.

"These dungeons are created procedurally based on numerous parameters, influencing everything from mob type to room and corridor layout to bosses and loot." the new developer diary reads.

The trick is, however, to complete these dungeons ahead of the Hidden Entrance despawning and tossing players out, including enemies that could create an interesting PvP dynamic for slowpokes.

While Oberon will launch with randomly generated dungeons for five players, the plan is to add different types of enemies and experiences for smaller groups, including solo players.
