It won't be too much longer before Pokemon GO players will be able to experience February's Community Day for 2019 featuring the Second Generation Ice- and Ground-type Swinub in the mobile augmented reality game. Regardless, PoGO Trainers still have to wait for the event's arrival. So, it looks as if Niantic has decided to give them an incentive to jump back into the ARG between now and then by adding a Shiny version of Psyduck.

Increased spawn rates of Psyduck initially began at the outset of a Pokemon GO Safari Zone event, but has now caused the creature to become available in much higher frequencies all around the globe, with many Trainers encountering the Water-type's Shiny iteration in the process. Those who are lucky enough to come across the special variant will notice the creature having a blue hue instead of its standard yellow exterior.

For the uninitiated, Psyduck is simply the latest Pocket Monster to end up receiving the Shiny treatment, as Niantic has been steadily adding specially colored versions of the franchise's creatures to Pokemon GO. As a matter of fact, the company included Shiny versions of Groudon and Kyogre not too long ago, and it also incorporated Shiny models for Swinub in preparation of it being the featured Pokemon for February's Community Day.

All things considered, it's great to see Niantic continually bringing a fresh stream of content into Pokemon GO so that players remain engaged with the title and get as much fun out of it as they possibly can. Naturally, with the franchise as a whole containing a huge pool of creatures from which to draw, there are still some fan-favorites missing from the ARG's Pokedex. With this being the case, it's safe to presume Niantic will slowly start to bring the absentees into the fold at some point in the future in order to keep players coming back for more.

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
