Whether its the annual winter event known as The Dawning, or the Halloween celebration dubbed The Festival of the Lost, Destiny 2 typically reflects lots of the real world seasons and holidays in-game that its players experience outside of the science fiction shooter. Now, it looks like love will be in the air again soon, with Bungie having confirmed the return of Crimson Days by revealing the forthcoming Valentine's Day-themed event's start date.

According to a recent post from Bungie Community Manager Chris "Cozmo" Shannon, Destiny 2's Crimson Days for this year were originally slated for February 5, but the studio has decided to shift the time frame a bit to have them run from February 12 through February 19. Cozmo also stated that those who missed out on the 2018's Crimson Days will be able to get those exclusive rewards tethered to the event, as the upcoming event is "very similar to last year".

While it appears as if Crimson Days won't be too different this time around, it seems as though Bungie has a few plans to shake things up somewhat in the Destiny 2 event by introducing "a few new rewards and ways of obtaining them". That said, though, the studio is being tight-lipped on the matter, as it won't be revealing any more details regarding Crimson Days 2019's content until it gets closer to the event's official start date.

Crimson Days 2018 not only saw the inclusion of a 2v2 Clash playlist in PvP, but also a bunch of different rewards. For instance, there were Crimson Engrams, an emblem and exotic Ghost shell unlocking after playing five Crimson Days PvP matches, an ornament for the exotic Wardcliff Coil for completing a raid activity, and a special emote for finishing the Nightfall.

While Destiny 2's Crimson Days for 2019 will be designed as a means to bring Guardians closer together, it's worth mentioning that Bungie itself has gone through a split with Activision not too long ago. Following this, Bungie has said it will self-publish the franchise from here on out, which has caused many fans to remain hopeful for the future of the series.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
