Atlas hackers strike again with the return of the dreaded air whale

Caw! Polly is no longer the apex predator!

It’s raining whales! What the heck, it’s now raining whales?! Hoist sails! That’s the ancient sea shanty players of Atlas were learning to sing when another round of hacking struck the game amidships not long after it had already been forced to roll servers back in the wake of a compromised admin account. And yes, among the hacking mess caused in the game was a rain of whales from the sky, forcing another shutdown and investigation.

The worlds were rolled back by about three hours and were officially stated to be a “technical exploit” with no further details. Players were also reassured that no admin accounts were compromised in this particular wave and multiple accounts were already banned as a consequence for this round of hacking, but it still begs the question about the game’s overall security under the circumstances. Here’s hoping that this is the last time the majestic whale takes to the skies.
