A new Destiny 2 glitch within the Scourge of the Past raid has surfaced that allows players to experience the endgame activity in third person. It’s very hard to replicate and requires a very specific set of factors, but it still offers a unique look at Bungie's popular shooter.

The glitch is unique to the Scourge of the Past raid and requires either a Warlock or a Titan to replicate. It also can only be activated during the first encounter of the Scourge of the Past raid, but players can continue using the third person view throughout the activity as long as they don’t respawn, change their subclass, or activate their super.

To do the third person glitch, Destiny 2 players will want to find a Berserker in the first part of the Scourge of the Past raid. Approach the enemy and wait until the Berserker is about to trigger its suppression cloud. Right before that happens, the player should activate their Stormcaller super.

Apparently, if done correctly the player will be in third person and able to run around and shoot in that viewpoint, as seen below:

It’s also possible to trigger this third person glitch by casting a Chaos Reach or using a Titan’s rally barricade but the camera view will be off. Stormcaller seems to be the best ability to activate to keep the third person viewpoint as centered as possible.

While Destiny and Destiny 2 have always been known as first person shooters, there are elements that allow players to experience the game in third person. As a result, some have wondered whether the game might ever allow players to choose between the two viewpoints.

If nothing else, this glitch helps show what Destiny could look like with a third person perspective. Players would have a better look at their character’s armor but they would lose a lot of the detail in the weapons.

But the main reason why Destiny would not work in third person is because it would completely change Crucible. With players able to peak around corners at all times, they would have an unfair advantage. It’s bad enough that emotes let players corner peek.
