Reader Discussion – What's Your Favorite Remake?
Capcom's Resident Evil 2 Remake is out this coming Friday. It's a hugely ambitious re-imagining of the original game, to the point where it blurs the line between remake and original game somewhat. But we're not having that discussion right now. Instead, we want to know what your favorite remake is.
Mine would have to the HD remake of the original Resident Evil. And I do mean the HD one - I played a little bit of the Gamecube version, and just couldn't deal with the tank controls. The remapping of control scheme that came with the recent HD iteration fixed that issue, and allowed me to really sink my teeth into the first Resident Evil for the first time, and I loved every minute of it (except for maybe that one time I got stuck looking for a key I already had in my inventory. That part maybe wasn't my greatest moment). Recently, the Shadow of the Colossus remake really struck a chord in me, but since I'd already beaten the original, it didn't have the same impact on me.
