Last week, a rumor started making the rounds that current WWE superstar and former UFC fighter Ronda Rousey would voice Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat 11. While that still has yet to be confirmed or denied, we do know that Ronda Rousey will in fact be at the game's reveal event on January 17, along with some other professional wrestlers.

It seems Mortal Kombat 11 developer NetherRealm Studios has invited a variety of pro wrestlers to its January 17 community reveal event. Besides Rousey, we know that Zelina Vega, valet for Andrade Cien Almas, will also be in attendance, as will The New Day's Kofi Kingston. However, the event won't just consist of WWE wrestlers, but wrestlers from other organizations as well, such as All Elite Wrestling's Cody Rhodes.

Whether these celebrities will be at the Mortal Kombat 11 event to promote the game or announce their involvement in its development remains to be seen. There haven't been rumors about other pro wrestlers being actively involved with the project besides Ronda Rousey, and at this point, there's no reason to believe that they're going for any reason other than to see what all the fuss is about.

NetherRealm didn't just invite professional wrestlers to its Mortal Kombat 11 reveal event, though. The studio also sent an invitation to well-known gaming journalist Geoff Keighley, who also serves as the host of The Game Awards - where Mortal Kombat 11 was originally announced back in December 2018.

Now that there is more evidence that Ronda Rousey may in fact be featured in Mortal Kombat 11, it lends more credibility to other information that came from the leak. For example, it's now more believable that the reveal event will include the announcement of a playable demo.

But even though the leak is now more believable, fans should still take it with a grain of salt. It's possible Rousey is just attending the event as a fan and is not actually going to be in the game as Sonya Blade as previously rumored, but we should find out for sure tomorrow during the Mortal Kombat 11 community reveal event.

Mortal Kombat 11 launches on April 23 for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
