This month, anime-action MMO Closers will be bringing continents together as it merges its NA and EU servers into a single worldwide server in order to “ensure the best possible player experience and a healthy in-game economy.” The merge is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 29th, starting at 7:00 p.m. ET and (hopefully) ending at 5:00 a.m. ET on January 30th. Server merges can be tricky business, so En Masse has released a handy FAQ to help players make sure they’re prepared.

[AL:Clo]Players should make sure to delete any characters they don’t need or play, as only a maximum of 20 character slots (and thus, presumably, 20 characters) will be transferred when the merge takes place. In the event of naming conflicts, “priority will be given to pre-existing characters on the NA server,” but any characters who have not logged in within the past six months will be automatically renamed to try to avoid conflicts, so if you want to make sure your characters keep their names, be sure to log in with them before the merge takes place. (And if you wondered which playerbase was getting the better end of this deal, welp, there you have it.)

And perhaps most importantly, the FAQ notes that friend lists will not be transferred with the merge, so if you’ve got friends with whom you’d like to keep in touch, be sure to coordinate beforehand to make sure you can get in contact after the merge. For all the details on what to expect when the merge happens, you can check out the full FAQ over at the game’s official site.
