Pokemon GO's latest event kicks off today and puts the spotlight back on Gen 3 creatures. The Hoenn Region event has a lot of great bonuses, special spawns, and returning Raid Bosses, but completionists might be most excited to hear about the two new shiny families that have been unlocked by the event.

To help celebrate the event, Niantic is release shiny versions of both Zigzagoon and Taillow. Since each of those Pokemon have an evolution, that means there are a handful of brand new shiny monsters to collect for players who have to have 'em all.

Pokemon GO Hub managed to track down and share the shiny models, so players can know what to keep an eye out for while tracking them down...

Although Taillow and Zigzagoon aren't exactly meta-relevant fighters, having some new shiny Pokemon added to the collection is always still exciting. Worst case scenario, these will be great trade bait for players who just want to unload them for something more practical. So far, it doesn't sound like any addition new shiny Pokemon are being added during the Hoenn Region event. If that ends up not being the case, we'll be sure to post an update.

Collecting shiny Pokemon doesn’t give the trainer any kind of advantage in battle, but it is still a fun additional challenge to add into the game. Shiny Pokemon are perfect for leaving in Gyms to show off to the rest of the community.
