Without a doubt, Final Fantasy 10/10-2 and Final Fantasy 12 are some of the most popular entries in the franchise. After all, both launched to critical acclaim, with Final Fantasy 12 being the first Final Fantasy game to ever receive a perfect score from the Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu. So when it was announced that these two titles were coming to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, many fans were understandably hyped.

Now, we know exact dates as to when each of these titles will hit the shelves for the new consoles. The Final Fantasy 10/10-2 Remaster will be joining the Switch and Xbox One families on April 16, 2019. Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac is coming to Switch and Xbox One shortly after on April 30, 2019.

Considering the popularity of the two titles, it's likely they clear shelves fast, as likely newcomers and Final Fantasy veterans alike will want to pick up these latest remakes. If nothing else, the two titles will likely prove that nostalgia sells. And to commemorate this re-release of Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age, Square has revealed some new artwork done by Akihiko Yoshida.

Of course, these aren't the only Final Fantasy titles being remade across new consoles. Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 9, for example, are also set to release on the Switch and Xbox One in 2019, though we have yet to receive release dates for either of these titles. And because of this, 2019 is shaping up to be a good year for Square Enix and Final Fantasy fans.

This will be especially true if fans also learn anything new and substantial about the forthcoming Final Fantasy 7 remake. Even if it's just an official release date/window, when combined with all of the above games hitting new consoles, it could help carry Final Fantasy through this year and well into the next.

Final Fantasy 10/10-2 Remaster is currently available for PC, PS3, PS4, and PS Vita, and launches on Switch and Xbox One on April 16, 2019. Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age is out now for PC and PS4, and is coming to Switch and Xbox One on April 30, 2019.
