Pokemon GO's holiday event has given players plenty to stay busy with in late December and there's something in the game for everyone right now from egg hatching to double stardust to special spawns. In addition to all of that excitement, players can also try to hunt down a few new shiny creatures to add to their collection.

The list of shiny creatures in Pokemon GO continues to grow this week as the special spawns for the holiday event bring a new exciting opportunities to the game. Both holiday spawns, Delibird and Santa hat Pikachu, have the chance to be shiny this year. This was a popular theory heading into the event and now that things are under way lots of players have confirmed the shiny spawns.

In addition to the two holiday-exclusive shiny creatures, players have also noticed that Azurill family is now available in shiny variant. That adds yet another super rare shiny baby for completionists to start hunting down.

The shiny Azurill should stick around going forward, but players should act quickly if they want to secure shiny Delibird and Santa hat Pikachu. These spawns will end after the holiday and likely won't return for a full year. Trades may be available from players who were lucky enough to get multiples, but catching your own now is the cheaper route in terms of resource management.

Collecting shiny Pokemon doesn’t give the trainer any kind of advantage in battle, but it is still a fun additional challenge to add into the game. Shiny Pokemon are perfect for leaving in Gyms to show off to the rest of the community.

We’ll continue to post updates as additional shiny Pokemon are added in the future, so be sure to check back. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is currently available in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
