Identity’s latest patch lets you get completely blitzed out of your mind

I have to be wasted for this.

The newest patch for MMO sandbox Identity has added consumables to the game, which of course means various things you can put in your body for boosts or stat penalties. Theoretically. See, the consumables this patch actually added were liquor, heroin, and marijuana. Unless there’s a stat for thinking that you can totally jump between rooftops like you’re a cast member of The Matrix or being able to find public access fishing shows hilarious, none of these substances really boosts anything.

Of course, they might make it more fun when you take advantage of the expanded selection of karaoke song, since karaoke is already an activity best undertaken whilst three sheets to the wind. There are also more substances planned for the future, which may start to get into the territory of providing more actual benefit. But for now, your experiences will be limited to see what happens when you try to drive after slamming back fifteen drinks in the game. Which, to be fair, is the sort of thing you want in a sandbox cops-and-robbers title.

You can play Identity right now; it’s currently in early access on Steam for $29.99.
