With just a little less than two months to go before the release of Capcom's forthcoming remake of Resident Evil 2, it looks as if the publisher and developer has now decided to start ramping up promotion of its re-imagined take of the 1998 survival-horror classic. Just today, in fact, the company teased the inclusion of a brand new area called the Orphanage, while also putting out fresh gameplay footage of co-protagonist Claire Redfield fighting Tyrant.

As seen in the video below, the Resident Evil 2 remake has taken several liberties with the overall designs of both Claire Redfield and Tyrant, while also making sure to keep the core identities of their characteristics intact. For instance, while Capcom has revised and enhanced the look of Claire and Tyrant, both of them still retain their sensibilities from the original, with the former being a quick, resilient fighter, and the latter being an unrelenting force that's practically unstoppable.

In addition to the gameplay, Capcom also decided to include a cutscene toward the end of the video that features Claire receiving an unexpected phone call from a mysterious figure who has been keeping tabs on her. What's more is that the footage offers fans looking forward to the Resident Evil 2 remake a chance to get a quick glimpse at Sherry Birkin in action exploring the aforementioned Orphanage area.

Taking all of this into account, it definitely looks as if Capcom has made fantastic headway when it comes to completing the Resident Evil 2 remake, with all of the wares shown off thus far shaping up to be solid evidence of the title having a high benchmark of quality. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise considering the fact the original RE2 is one of, if not the most beloved entry in the survival-horror franchise. And with the title having been dubbed Best of Show at E3 2018, it's safe to say that Capcom has put plenty of TLC into the project.

The Resident Evil 2 remake is set to release on January 25, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
