The Division 2 blog has been updated with a new developer blog that lays out the first details about five different skill categories. The skill categories are: Chem Launcher, Drone, Hive, Seeker Mine and Turret with each providing players with "several variants with very different gameplay and effects". Each can be tailored to be fully offensive in nature, fully packed with party utility or a hybrid of the two.

Chem Launcher is a grenade launcher-inspired weapon. Interestingly, players can use the "chem launcher" to repair a team's armor and provides armor restoration over time.

Drones follow the player and, depending on what type of drone is equipped, it can be sent after an enemy or to assist an ally. Drones also have armor repair capabilities.

Hives are "micro-drones" that, similar to normal drones, "deliver special effects to their targets". They can be placed or thrown to provide and AoE damage ability or boon for a party. Hives can also revive allies within a specific radius.

Seeker Mines can target both friendlies and hostiles, again with beneficial effects or damaging effects.

Turrets "can be placed next to you with a quick-press of the Skill button or thrown a short distance with a long press. There are four different variants: Assault, Incinerator, Artillery and Sniper.

Check out even more details on The Division 2 site.
