Borderlands 2 VR Exclusive To PlayStation 4 For Minimum Five Months

by Imran Khan on Nov 29, 2018 at 08:05 PM

It wasn't that long ago that Gearbox announced a special VR version of Borderlands 2, eschewing multiplayer in favor of new virtual reality experiences and changes. The port was announced on Sony's PlayStation blog, though it was assumed that Borderlands 2 VR would eventually come to PC as well. It now seems that "eventually" has a time frame of at least five months.

The news comes from a commercial for the VR version of Borderlands 2, mostly made of simulated footage. At the end of the commercial, a message at the bottom declares "Borderlands 2 VR is exclusive to PSVR for a minimum of five months from launch."

This means that competing headsets like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive won't be getting the game until late April at the earliest. The game supports a number of different control schemes, including both motion controls and a standard controller, as well as a different types of locomotion. Players can teleport around or maintain direct control or combine both.

Borderlands 2 VR launches on PlayStation VR on December 14.
