Betawatch: Legends of Aria has a free stress test

Yes, this is ready.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but whenever I see something advertising a stress test, I just shrug and say that I’ve already got mine at top level, no more needed. But that isn’t what Legends of Aria means by a stress test, nor is it what anyone else means. It means you can log in and play and try to strain the servers so the designers can avoid having them break on the real launch, as MMOs do. So… yes, you can go do that.

Other beta news has been in slightly scant supply, because it’s a holiday week and all. But we’ve still got some for you!

If that’s not enough beta stuff for you over this holiday-ish weekend, perhaps you can fill your time with our list of games in testing down below. Anything that shouldn’t be there can be brought to our attention in the comments below, at which point we will send it to live with a nice farm family upstate.

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
