It might be hard to believe, but this year marks the 14th anniversary since Blizzard changed the landscape of the MMO genre with the release of World of Warcraft back in November of 2004. As the saying goes, time flies when you’re constantly saving the world from the threat of complete annihilation. Or something like that, anyway. To celebrate the game’s 14th anniversary, Blizzard is putting on an event in which players can complete new daily quests, go toe-to-toe with iconic enemies from the game’s history, and get their hands on some shiny, celebratory rewards.

To kick things off, all players who log into the game between now and November 30th will be granted a special Anniversary Gift Package containing 200 Timewarped Badges, an experience-buff item, and a letter from the Timewalkers that begins a special anniversary quest. On top of that, players will find two new daily quests from Historian Llore and Historian Ju’pa, from which they can earn more Timewarped Badges “either by answering World of Warcraft trivia or by defeating some familiar foes.”

These familiar foes include historical world bosses such as Lord Kazzak, Azuregos, and the four Dragons of Nightmare. Felling them will earn players yet more Timewarped Badges, which can then be spent on any of the already-available items in addition to the new Overtuned Corgi Goggles toy, which turns friendly NPCs into precious corgi pups. You can check out the full details of WoW’s 14th-anniversary event on the game’s official site.
