During the lead up to Pokemon Let's Go's release, The Pokemon Company has been releasing a series of teasers about the new Pokemon: Meltan. This creature will crossover with Pokemon GO and it seems like the idea is to bring players from the mobile game over to the Switch and vice versa. As if a brand new Pokemon wasn't enough motivation, it seems there is also going to be a shiny variant to collect.

This may be heading close to spoiler territory, so avert your eyes if you want to play Pokemon Let's Go without any idea about what's coming. For those who are still interested, it seems the latest datamine of Pokemon Let's Go information includes some images of a shiny version of Meltan and its evolution Melmetal.

Here's a look at the images...

Fans on Reddit are already a little unhappy about how close this shiny looks to the original version of Meltan, but knowing Pokemon players, that isn't going to stop anyone from wanting to hunt down the rare variant to add to their collection. Shiny Pokemon have been significantly less rare in Pokemon GO than in traditional series games, so it will be interesting to learn now shiny Meltan is obtained.

Collecting shiny Pokemon doesn’t give the trainer any kind of advantage in battle, but it is still a fun additional challenge to add into the game. Shiny Pokemon are perfect for leaving in Gyms to show off to the rest of the community.

Be sure to check back later this week for plenty of Pokemon Let's Go guides and news as the game launches. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee launches on November 16, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
