Last week, Jam City accidentally leaked the Magical Creatures Reserve, a new area for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players to explore. Since the Magical Creatures Reserve leak, Jam City has slowly rolled it out to players in an official capacity, introducing the area and the new features associated with it as part of a series of side quests from Hagrid.

To visit the Magical Creatures Reserve and become a student Magizoologist in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, players simply have to wait for the side quest to become available to them. In our own testing, the side quest just become available earlier today, even though Jam City has been promoting it on social media for days now and some players have had it for just as long.

Upon arriving at the Magical Creatures Reserve, players will have a chance to chat with Hagrid and adopt a niffler. Unlike other pets in the game, the niffler and most magical creatures in general will stay at the Magical Creatures Reserve, where players can care for the beasts by feeding and bonding with them. New magical creatures can be adopted with red notebooks, which are currently obtainable through the latest in-game event.

Like basically everything else in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, Magical Creatures Reserve actions are governed by a timer, so players can only feed and bond with their animals at certain times. Completing these actions will level up players' Magizoology level, which will make new magical creatures available for adoption and comes with other bonuses as well.

Caring for magical creatures will get players gems, energy bits, and other rewards. Speaking of energy bits, the Magical Creature Reserve has the added bonus of having a new free energy reserve, with players able to tap the grey dog that spawns there to get an additional free energy bit a few times per day.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players who still have yet to receive the Magical Creatures Reserve update should expect it to come to their game within the week. It's probable that the addition of Magizoology and the Magical Creatures Reserve is due to the upcoming release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which stars Magizoologist Newt Scamander as one of the main characters, so it will likely come to all players by Friday, November 16 to capitalize on the movie's popularity.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
