Red Dead Redemption 2 features a little something for gamers from every walk of life, including killing KKK members, robbing banks, hunting down legendary animals, and just generally living the outlaw life. However, the game also features a rather impressive weather system, with horses known to proportionally react to the cold. It is also entirely possible for players to get struck by lightning.

Despite the fact that the odds of getting struck by lightning in the United States are 1 in 700,000, Red Dead Redemption 2 makes it a reality for some gamers. In fact, one player was struck by lightning at camp–one of the places in the game where players can be considered safe.

Of course, the lightning struck itself was nothing short of hilarious, with the player being rag-dolled across the camp with some gravity-defying mechanics. It also goes without saying that this was a fatal blow, bringing forth the unfortunate DEAD screen. Check it out below:

While this was unfortunate for the player at hand, it isn't something to have reportedly happened a lot. Still, who could be mad when their killer was mother nature? It seems the most likely reaction to this scenario is one of absolute disbelief. Regardless, it's small details like this weather mechanic that have helped make the game so popular that it has already outpaced sales the original.

Speaking of small details, one thing that brings this game to life is its NPC interaction. Much like the game's weather mechanic, the NPCs have a lot of detail to them, with many NPCs practically living a life in the western world of RDR2. All of this combined is just one more reason that the story of Arthur Morgan is a work worthy of Rockstar's reputation.
