Gamigo considers ‘quality of life improvements’ for RIFT post-Trion, but there’s little else shared

Just call me angel of the morning, angel.

We’ve  heard from the ArcheAge and Trove teams about just what plans Gamigo has for those games following Trion Worlds’ apparent fire sale, and today, we’re hearing from RIFT. But the letter from the team today mostly just asks for time and patience while the devs sort it out.

“With our smaller team we’re still working out the details on what future content updates will look like,” Gamigo says. “While plans are being made for the future, we’re going to be focusing the team on implementing Quality of Life improvements for RIFT in the short term. We can’t share specifics yet because there’s still work being done behind the scenes to build a strong foundation for the future. It’s on this foundation that all future updates will be built. This includes examining the health of our shard populations and looking at ways to make sure all of our players have the best possible experience in game.”

Some players are taking this to mean the game will head to maintenance mode, under the belief that the bulk of the team was let go, but to be clear, that isn’t expressly said.

Incidentally, this week’s patch notes extended phase 3 of the Autumn Harvest festival another week.
