There is a well-known glitch in Red Dead Redemption 2 that results in several key characters disappearing from the camp, including Sadie Adler, John Marston, Jack Marston, and Abigail Roberts. Despite seemingly occurring from no reason, developer Rockstar has revealed what causes the glitch and how to currently work around it. Of course, it is not a game-breaking glitch for those who don't want to load an older save.

It appears this glitch happens when players use the Retry Checkpoint feature during the chapter 2 mission Polite Society, Valentine Style. If any Red Dead Redemption 2 players have done this, then the aforementioned characters will only appear in camp when they have a mission for the player to complete. This means that these gamers will miss out on several side conversations with these characters.

To work around this, players will need to complete the mission without using the aforementioned feature. If players fail any portion of the mission, they need to abandon it and restart or load a save from before failing the mission. Hopefully, those electing to do this do not lose a lot of progression, but there is some good news.

Regardless, for those suffering from the glitch, the characters will automatically return at the beginning of chapter 4. Rockstar did reveal that a fix was in the works to go alongside the next title update but stopped short of revealing when that will come. Of course, in a title such as Red Dead Redemption 2, glitches like the end-of-the-map free falling will just happen.

Another glitch players have discovered includes randomly combusting horses when traveling down a certain road in Red Dead Redemption 2. For the most part, these glitches don't take away from the experience of the western action-adventure title, and for some, it defines the experience. After all, where's the fun without a hiccup or two in the game?

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
