Microsoft plans to extend its Xbox Game Pass service to PC.

The monthly subscription service, which gives Xbox players access to just over 200 titles, already has a limited presence on Windows 10 through Xbox Play Anywhere. But those are largely restricted to first-party games like Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 4.

But in yesterday’s quarterly earnings report, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella brought up plans to bring a fully-fledged version of Game Pass to PC. What exactly that means, Nadella failed to mention in the brief announcement.

Whatever form a PC Game Pass takes, it’s likely to be tied up in the Windows 10 ecosystem. Still, after many long years of neglecting the platform, it’s nice to see Microsoft has plans to invigorate its own game plans on PC.

Xbox Game Pass has been a fantastic offer for consumers, boosting engagement numbers. But for those of us looking to gauge the concrete sales success of particular titles, it's made things a lot more difficult.
