It has previously been confirmed that PS4 players of Red Dead Redemption 2 will have early access to some content, letting them play it 30 days ahead of players on Xbox One. Fans got a brief glimpse of the first content pack in screenshots released earlier this month, but now Sony and Rockstar Games are letting people see it in action.

One of the pieces of early access content for Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 players is the Red Chestnut Arabian horse, which will be available day one in multiplayer mode Red Dead Online. The steed is "known for its speed and handling," explains the trailer. When horses die in the game, they will die permanently, but it's unclear whether that includes horses in Red Dead Online as well as horses in single player.

The early access content pack also includes the alligator skin ranch cutter saddle which gives your horse health and stamina boosts. This will make a horse a lot faster. It will also be available when Red Dead Online launches in November, so players will have access to this speed boost once the multiplayer mode goes live.

The third piece of early access content available to PS4 players is the high roller double-action revolver, which will also be available from launch in Red Dead Online. The weapon is described as "highly customized" with a "quick rate of fire", and it is apparently ideal for mounted combat. So, if Red Dead Redemption 2 players don't feel like using their horse's speed to get away and prefer to stay and fight instead, the revolver makes for an ideal weapon.

The final piece of content included is the Grizzlies outlaw outfit, which will be available in both the Red Dead Redemption 2 story mode and in Red Dead Online from day one. The outfit doesn't appear to have any special gameplay effects, but with its matching boots and buckle, as well as its custom wool-lined coat, the snazzy appearance is a benefit all in itself.

The trailer also teases that there is "more to come" in Red Dead Online, so fans can expect lots more content to collect and unlock in the multiplayer mode. Rockstar has yet to detail exactly how that will work and what game modes the online side of the title will include. The studio has said that its plans for Red Dead Online will be similar to GTA Online, a game which is supported by regular post-launch updates, so it will likely be very substantial.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to launch on October 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
