Without a doubt, The Last of Us: Part 2 is one of the most highly anticipated PS4 exclusives in recent memory, and fans have been clamoring for as much information about the forthcoming action-adventure game as possible. While Naughty Dog has yet to drop any major bombshells about the title following its gameplay showcase at E3 2018, the developer and Sony did at least decide to offer fans some goodies to celebrate Outbreak Day, with the biggest offer being a Ellie PS4 theme that's free for a limited time.

In order to get The Last of Us: Part 2's free Ellie PlayStation 4 theme, PS4 owners will simply need to head to the PlayStation Store and enter the search terms "The Last of Us: Part II Ellie Theme", and it should be the only item suggested. If it doesn't show up, an alternative method is to look under The Last of Us Remastered's game page. Also, it's worth noting that this item is only going to be available for 24 hours, so TLOU fans would do well to download it as soon as possible in order to avoid paying $3 for it after Outbreak Day.

In addition to the free Ellie theme for PS4, The Last of Us: Part 2 is also giving fans the chance to snatch up several free PS4 avatar images, too, including an Ellie Avatar Pack, as well as an avatar for the characters Lev, Yara, Dina, Jesse, Emily, and the Mystery Woman character. Of course, like the free Ellie theme, these avatars are only going to be free through tomorrow, September 27, before being reset to their original prices.

All things considered, these freebies for Outbreak Day ought to please most, if not all fans of The Last of Us, and should get them even more excited for the forthcoming sequel in Part 2. Naturally, though, players would be even more thrilled if the celebration also included Naughty Dog sharing fresh details about what's to come in the sequel, but one can only hope that the studio has some big announcements planned down the line.
