The Black Death update adds Kings and Queens, squashes bugs

Grim medieval survival sandbox The Black Death has released a new update that brings with it a number of bug fixes as well as new animations and the new King/Queen server feature. The highlight of the update is the new King/Queen feature, which allows players with the Royalty profession to vie for the crown. The most powerful player with the Royalty profession will be named the king or queen of the server, and his or her name will be shown to all players at the top of the map screen.

Although there is no further benefit to being King or Queen at this time, the patch notes state that the devs are “working to extend this feature to give the player additional benefits,” which they hope to implement “within the next few updates.” The update also adds new animations for prisoners as well as test versions of ambient water sounds. On top of that, the patch implements fixes for a number of issues such as blocking not working, attacks not registering, and more. For the full list of changes, check out the patch notes on the game’s official Steam page.
