The Project Genom team has posted its weekly update letter on the official site to let fans know that the massive PTS update is nearing completion. More than a few systems have undergone major improvements and through revisions in preparation for PTS testing. In addition, the team is working hard on optimizing the game world and graphics performance.
Here are some of the game updates that will be part of the PTS update:
- network improvements including transitions between servers and the database itself
- interface improvements including rebuilt in-game windows, labels to identify new items in inventory and more
- the dialog system has been revamped and the NPC reactions have been improved
- quest reward functionality has been redesigned
- new tabs to more easily track quests have been added
- a new function has been added "that allows tracking player's path to the set point on the map"
- tags and pointers on the minimap are more apparent and path tracing has been added to the large map
- chat and chat channels have been retooled
- ammo boxes will be added
- object interaction has been overhauled
- a large Raider camp has been completed
- the morgue is now part of the starting area
There still isn't a window when the update will launch on the current beta server, but will only come "after we finish and successfully test the quest system".
