Stardew Valley Coming To PlayStation Vita, Plus Some Multiplayer Updates

by Imran Khan on Dec 08, 2017 at 01:50 PM

Chucklefish is going to make sure you have zero excuses to not play Stardew Valley and a bunch of excuses to play it wherever you are by announcing a PlayStation Vita version of the farming and life sim.

Announced today via the Stardew Valley blog, a possible Vita version was first mentioned in January but the developer was non-committal due to having plenty other on their plate at the time. It has been officially confirmed to be available next year, with crossbuy for people who already own the PlayStation 4 version.

There has also been steady progress on the multiplayer update, with marriage between players being implemented and dancing at festivals with a fellow player now being possible. There's also additional content coming alongside the multiplayer update, which the screenshot above is meant to hint at.

The blog post makes sure to point out that the PlayStation Vita version cannot support the multiplayer update, however.

Stardew Valley is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. You can find our review of the game right here.

Our Take
A lot of people really want portable Stardew Valley, but don't have the money or inclination to get a Switch, so even a compromised Vita version is worth it. The game being free to PlayStation 4 owners is fantastic news.
