Assassin's Creed: Origins Adds Educational Discovery Tour Mode In Early 2018

by Imran Khan on Sep 27, 2017 at 12:30 PM

Ubisoft announced a Discovery Tour for Assassin's Creed: Origins today, a combat- and story-free optional mode that focuses on education and simply soaking the world in.

The new mode lets you walk around Assassin's Creed: Origins' map and learn about the various sights, sounds, and traditions that make up the time period and region in Origins. The mode does not have enemies to fight or time pressure to dictate where you need to go, you simply walk around ancient Egypt and learn while relaxing.

The mode is coming as a free update in early 2018. Assassin's Creed: Origins itself is releasing worldwide on October 27 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can find a host of information at the game by visiting our Assassin's Creed: Origins hub.

Our Take
It is a bold move for a game so focused on conflict to have this mode, but it's definitely the right move. Hopefully this becomes a standard option in the future, as the worlds of the game are beautiful and too often rushed through. Considering the fiction of these games already has these past sections as educational walkabouts, it is only appropriate to do it in the game.
