Today is a big day for the Project Genom team with the launch of the game's Public Test Server. It provides players an opportunity to try out the earliest version of the technical alpha, the most recent game version that brings a number of changes to current systems as well as updates to a wide variety of new systems. The forum post has detailed instructions on how to register for the PTS as well as the features they can expect to find once in game.

We remind you that PTS will include:

  • New network architecture of the game, which should eradicate most of the old bugs, freezes, and lags that appeared on v0.6.17.2.
  • New server system with transitions.
  • Stable and seamless transitions in the open world.
  • Improved database.
  • Updated male and female characters with a new controller and animations.
  • Character customization.
  • Updated opponents with a more advanced AI system, unique animations, behavior and combat features, and damage spots. Diggers will be the primary opponents during testing.
  • Updated user interface.
  • New open world with a completely redesigned area up to 60 square miles (100 square kilometers).
  • Nine unique instances.
  • Dynamic day and night cycle.
  • New non-player characters system with the daily routine.
  • Dialogue system.
  • Basic character progression system (experience gain and skill points)
  • Separate test showroom location with main mobs, all types of weapons and armor, as well as fast travel spots connected with all game locations.

In the early testing stages, players are tasked with trying out the new character customization process and to "twist, drag, change hair and try to break the character in every way possible".

Players will need to have a registered copy of the game. It can be purchased on Steam.

You can check out the full post and get registered for the PTS by visiting the Project Genom site.
