Evolve Stage 2 Gets New Hunter Adaptations, Maps, Co-op Mode, And More Throughout August

by Mike Futter on Aug 03, 2016 at 07:00 AM

Evolve Stage 2 has grown once more. The free reboot of last year’s 4-versus-1 monster hunt has drawn in more than 2 million players in the first month.

In addition to today’s release of the Quantum Caira hunter adaptation (read more here and check out her trailer below), Turtle Rock Studios and 2K have announced a big month of updates for the game. August will bring two more hunter adaptations as well as quality of life improvements based on community feedback.

Today’s update will bring matchmaking improvements, as well as addressing problems with people leaving mid-game. There will be some balance tweaks, also.

One of the biggest improvements is how players can access new content. Silver keys are completely free with no monetization, but that means spending that hard-earned currency is a strategic choice. Starting today, you’ll be able to try any hunter or monster before buying in the training mode.

You’ll also be able to sample skins and perks in training, too. This allows you to see just how visible you’ll be and test out which perks make the most sense for each hunter.

Evolve Stage 2 is available free on Steam. Console releases are being considered, though it wouldn't be until after the PC version is through testing if it happens at all.
