by Haley MacLean on Jun 22, 2016 at 07:50 AM

Co-op, top-down shooter Livelock has officially gotten a release date. It is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on August 2.

The game takes players to the 22nd century in the "age of the machine." Humanity is nearly snuffed out, and it is up to you to restore it by battling groups of corrupted machines called clusters. You play as a Capital Intellect that is essentially a human consciousness implemented into a robot body.

An announcement trailer for Livelock was released in January, which starred one of the Capital Intellects Hex. A recent Pax East developer walkthrough video shows off the remaining two playable characters, Catalyst the support specialist and drone expert and Vanguard a close-range brawler. These characters have also each received reveal trailers; you can check out Catalyst's here, and Vanguard's here

Livelock will be $19.99, and a a three-pack price of $44.99 will be available on Arc for groups of three who wish to buy the game together to play cooperatively as all three characters. For more Livelock, you can check out this preview from E3 2016.
