Just Cause 3 Gets Performance-Boosting Patch On All Platforms This Week

by Mike Futter on Dec 16, 2015 at 04:19 AM

Just Cause 3 is full of explosions and humorous emergent events. It also doesn’t run quite as well as some were hoping on consoles.

Patch 1.02 should help fix some of those problems when it arrives on consoles this week. At the top of the list of fixes is an improvement to load times.

There are also stability improvements, a tweak that ensures vehicles don’t disappear at the start of a challenge, and enhancements to online stats. For PC players, a lingering bug related to screen resizing has been fixed.

Avalanche also offers some clarification on design decisions. It’s by intention that there’s no sprint button (you should be using your grappling hook and wing suit), Rico doesn’t crouch because you’re supposed to be in the air and not hiding, and you can find the general location of those nagging final chaos objects by using your map.

The patch lands on console this week after certification is complete. The PC version will roll out this Friday. For more, check out our review.

Our Take
I loved Just Cause 3 but haven’t had a chance to dive in yet. I’m glad that when I do that some of these issues will have been resolved.
